SOCAR evacuates workers from offshore platforms due to storm
Baku / 02.12.19 / Turan: Due to the strong wind that reached the storm level, on December 2, SOCAR evacuated up to 420 oil workers from offshore platforms, the state oil company said. According to the same source, security measures are tightened and outdoor work is limited.
According to weather forecasts, the wind force on Absheron on December 2 will be 25 meters per second; the wave height will be within 4-5 meters.
In previous years, more than 50 people died in total due to gale winds at various SOCAR offshore facilities. Some of them were never found. -02D-
