The accused for the events of July 14 plead not guilty
Baku/18.05.21/Turan: On May 18, the trial of 12 persons for the events that occurred on July 14, 2020 during the rally in support of the Azerbaijani army, continued with the testimony of one victim and two witnesses. The deputy head of the logistics department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Agayev Samir, recognized as a victim, said at the trial chaired by Judge Ulviya Shukurova that more than 20 police cars were damaged during the incident, two of which could not be repaired, and the total amount of damage was about 55 thousand manats.
The victim noted that experts invited from Fiat Company gave an opinion on the amount of material damage. He added that at present, he has no complaints against the accused, but after the court determines the perpetrators, a civil case will be initiated against them.
An employee of the Khatai district police department, Babayev, noted in his testimony that on the day of the incident, they received an alarm signal and they arrived at the Milli Mejlis. According to him, stones were thrown at him, but he does not know who threw them.
Another police officer, Bakhshali Bahram, gave similar testimony, but in his testimony, he used the phrase "a normal person cannot be on the street at this time." This caused the discontent of the accused. They protested and declared that they had come to the square for the sake of the state, their homeland, but not to commit provocations. The people who were there were not insane.
