Baku/19.09.23/Turan: According to the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party (ADWP), the activist of the party Enver Agamalyzade was detained in the morning on September 19 in front of the house where he lives and taken away in an unknown direction. His associates cannot contact him. The Interior Ministry could not be reached for comment. Agamalyzade was detained last month too.
The chairman of the ADWP is Gubad Ibadoglu, who was arrested in July on charges of manufacturing and selling counterfeit money. Later, he was also charged with distributing religious extremist literature.
Human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner. The European Parliament called for sanctions against Azerbaijani officials because of Ibadoglu's arrest. ----21B06---

On July 25, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense accused Armenia of "provoking" by deploying heavy weapons in Kalbajar and quadcopters in the Tovuz direction. The ministry also expressed dissatisfaction and concern over Armenia's military cooperation with Western countries.
