The authorities decided to tighten the fight against domestic violence
Baku/21.01.22/Turan: Amendments to the Criminal and Administrative Codes to toughen penalties for domestic violence have been submitted to Parliament. According to sources in parliament, the amendments imply an increase in the term of imprisonment from two to four years for beatings and psychological pressure. Amendments to the Administrative Code imply a fine of 300 manat or 60 hours of corrective labor or 15 days of arrest for violation of economic rights (deprivation of income from property, creation of economic dependence). As expected, in the near future the amendments will be submitted for discussion by deputies.
It should be noted that the country's feminists have been demanding to strengthen the fight against domestic violence for a long time. Groups of women held numerous actions protesting against the lack of action by the authorities and the police on the facts of murders and beatings of women by their husbands. -02D-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
