The brother of the doctor who committed suicide blames the police for this
Baku/20.10.23/Turan: Dentist Nijat Ajdarly committed suicide in Yevlakh, his brother Samir Ajdarly told Turan. According to him, on October 19, the doctor was taken to the Yevlakh district police department. "Before that, for several months, a policeman named Hikmet and a deputy chief named Elsever extorted money from my brother, demanding 1-2 thousand manats monthly," the brother of the deceased claims.
On the day of the incident, two police officers came to Nijat Ajdarly for work and took him to the police. They kept him there for 4-5 hours. "When I went to get him, they told me that as a sign of "respect" they were letting my brother go for only 1 thousand manats," said Sami Ajdarly. On the way, the dentist told his brother that he was under physical and moral pressure to pay.
After that, the dentist went to his place and committed suicide. He left a note in his pocket: "Sorry, they drove me to despair," the brother noted.
After the suicide of Samir Ajdarly, law enforcement agencies did not involve those close to the investigation. The police drew up a report that he was driving drunk. "However, my brother did not go to the police by car. His car was parked at the house," Samir Ajdarly said.
The head of the Barda regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Aslan Giyasly, told Turan that the death of Ajdarly is being investigated by the prosecutor's office.
Later, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spread a message that on October 18 at 15:30 Ajdarly Nijat Raghif oglu was invited to the police in connection with driving under the influence of drugs, where he was examined by a narcologist.
"During the medical examination, it was found that he was driving a car under the influence of alcohol, in connection with which, a protocol on an administrative offense was left and he was released. Given the above, the claims about the causes of death are personal assumptions that have no legal basis."
The attempts to get comments from the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office were futile. ---06B---
