The complaint of brother-in-law of Ali Kerimli is not granted
Baku / 02.08.17 / Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal did not satisfy on August 2 the complaint of the brother-in-law of the head of the PFPA, former deputy chairman of the Yasamal branch of Texnikabank Elnur Seyidov. Seyidov"s lawyer Fakhraddin Mehtiyev told Turan about this.
Seyidov asked the court to transfer to the jail-settlement, however, the Garadagh court did not satisfy the appeal.
According to the lawyer, the complaint was considered under the chairmanship of the judge Rizvan Safarov. However, the judiciary did not find Seyidov's complaint sound, despite the health problems due to multiple sclerosis.
"It was not taken into account that Seyidov served 2/3 of the sentence, and the decision of the court of first instance was upheld.
This decision is unreasonable and illegal, so we intend to apply to the Supreme Court in connection with the case," said the lawyer.
According to him, his client was arrested without any guilt. "His detention for many years in prison has one reason - he is the brother-in-law of the PFPA chairman Ali Kerimli."
E.Seyidov in March 2012 was arrested by MNB officers in connection with the case of "Texnikabank". The Baku court for serious crimes sentenced him to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment. With the exception of Seyidov, all those arrested in this case have already been released.
Seyidov denies all charges against him, stating that he did not commit a crime. -05B04-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
