The court accepted for consideration a lawsuit on blocking the site bastainfo.com
Baku / 26.11.18 / Turan: On November 26, a preparatory meeting was held at the Sabail District Court on a complaint about blocking the bastainfo.com website.
The chief editor of the site, Mustafa Hajibeyli, told Turan that the editors raised the issue of lifting restrictions on access to the site. In addition, the complaint contains a request to terminate the criminal case against Hajibeyli himself under Article 313 of the Criminal Code (official forgery, intentional dissemination of false information on an information resource).
The lawsuit has been accepted, and hearings are scheduled for November 30.
Earlier, according to Hajibeyli, a similar lawsuit was submitted to the Baku Administrative and Economic Court number 1, but the complaint was not accepted, and the Court of Appeal upheld the decision. Therefore, the editors appealed to the court of general jurisdiction.
On July 9, Hajibeyli was told that he was had been summoned as a witness in a criminal case. On the same day, the Prosecutor General"s Office opened a criminal case on the fact that "false information" and "illegal appeals" were spread on the Internet in connection with the assassination attempt on Ganja"s head Elmar Veliyev.
In this regard, the prosecutor's office appealed to the Ministry of Communications to block the sites "Bastainfo.com", "criminalaz.com", "topxeber.az" and "fia.az". -06D-
