The Court of Appeal does not release the PFPA activist
Today Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal activist of the Youth
Committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Emil Iskenderov, leaving him under arrest.
The young man was detained on November 15 in the village of Bina. Yasamal district court arrested him for 30 days for "not subordinate to the police."
PFPA regarded the activist’s arrest as part of the campaign of repression against the opposition youth.
Lawyer Asabali Mustafayev said that the activist was convicted on the "standard version": he allegedly spoke loudly on his cell phone and swore, ignoring the warning of the police.
However, the young man at the time did not have any phone. Moreover, the activist was taken away from home and his family can witness it , the lawyer said. -03B-

People's Artist Agadadash Agayev has been charged with hooliganism with the use of weapons, Article 221.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. A similar charge was brought against the guard of the clinic where the incident occurred.
