The court refuses to transfer Mamed Ibrahim under house arrest
Trial in the case of a member of the PPFA Board Mamed Ibrahim continued today in the Narimanov Court. According to the lawyer Yalcin Imanov, last prosecution witness Anar Ismayilov gave testimony at the meeting. He and other witnesses said that the defendant did not offend the victim Mikail Guliyev. Thus, all the prosecution witnesses have testified in favor of Ibrahim, and they denied the version of the investigation about the presence of two more victims - Oruj Veliyev and Mohammed Gurbanov.
Then spoke the medical examiner Siraj Dadashov who was instructed to carry out the examination. However, Dadashov attracted the neurologist Farid Mamedbayov, and based on this stated that the victim Guliyev has a traumatic brain injury. In court, the judge failed to give clear explanations of its actions, and hearing of witnesses finished. In this regard, the protection petitioned to change the measure of restraint for Ibrahim, and his transfer to house arrest.
On the other hand, Ibrahim is kept on the Shuvelan jail in a small cell with 24 prisoners. It is impossible to breathe there because of smoking prisoners. In addition, Ibrahim is suffering from kidney pain, and treatment in jail is impossible. However, the court did not grant that request.
Another petition concerned submitting the trial the police the registration book of police department of the Narimanov district of the capital. This is important in view of non-coincidence of data, and changing the Article into a more serious Article.
On October 5, 2015 the charge was changed to aggravating Article, although the investigator only on October 6 appealed to the leadership of the district police on another complaint against Ibrahim. Therefore, the registrations book is necessary to figure out when it was a complaint to the police about Ibrahim was made. Protection is convinced that this complaint was "organized" backdating. The petition was granted and the next trial is scheduled for March 7.
* M.Ibrahim was arrested on September 30 last year on charges of disorderly conduct (221.1) (Complaint was filed by Mikyail Guliyev, a former member of the PFPA.) Subsequently, this Article has been reclassified to a heavier charge under the Article - 221.2.2, according to which Ibrahim can be imprisoned up to 5 years in prison. -05B04/06-
