Ilkin Rustamzadeh’s Spouse Attempted Suicide, Activist Blames Interior Ministry
Baku /17.06.20 / Turan: The wife of former political prisoner Ilkin Rustamzadeh made a suicide attempt today by drinking a large amount of sleeping pills. Ilkin wrote about this on his Facebook page at 13:00 on June 17.
“I took her to the Semashko hospital (Clinical Center), and now she is in intensive care.
A representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had previously blackmailed her through Facebook, sent her a warning three days ago: “If Ilkin is not silent, then what happened earlier will happen again,” the activist wrote, without specifying what is at stake.
Note that according to the reports of the activist’s colleagues, a false profile was created in the social networks in the name of the activist’s wife, where personal photos of the young woman were displayed.
Recall that Ilkin Rustamzadeh is a well-known youth activist who spent 6 years in prison for organizing protests against soldiers' deaths in peacetime. He is one of the active critics of the authorities. -02B-
