The human rights organization new political arrests and torture
Political Prisoners Monitoring Centre expressed concern about new facts of politically motivated arrests. The Centre condemned the arrest and torture of young activists Mammad Bayramov and Giyas Ibrahimov, after they painted on the monument to Heydar Aliyev. The human rights organization also condemned the administration arrests of other young - activists Amid Suleymanov, Samir Hasanov, Elnur Mukhtar.
The Centre has also expressed concern about the facts of beating Rashad Abbasov in the Sumgait police office and death of Zaur Soltanov in the police of office Shuvelan.
The statement condemned the sentence of imprisonment Nuhbale Rahimov for 1.5 years the Akhund of the Nardaran mosque, as well as violation of the rights of Thale Bagirzade , the arrested leader of the "Musulman Unity" Movement, and other believers.
The Centre calls upon the authorities to stop torture in places of detention, to punish the guilty, to release those arrested for political reasons, activists, journalists and believers.
