The investigation in the case of activists who painted a monument of Heydar Aliyev completed
On 12 August the lawyer Elchin Sadigov met in Kurdakhani jail with youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Giyasov Ibrahimov, arrested on charges of drug trafficking. These are young people who painted graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev in the center of Baku, and they were arrested the next day. Sadigov told Turan that the health of the arrested is normal. It is planned to start the investigation next week. In particular, it is supposed to carry out confrontations with the supposed witnesses and operatives involved in the detention of activists.
On 3 August, on his birthday, Ibrahimov was appointed a meeting with the parents. It was the first meeting of the activist with relatives after the arrest on May 10th.
The facts of torture against young people in the police have not been investigates, despite the fact that the court during their arrest the court gave such an order to the Baku Prosecutor's Office. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
