The Milli Majlis breaks the law by parking cars on the sidewalk
Baku / 26.12.19 / Turan: Laws and rules of the road concern and must be implemented by all, regardless of the position and place of work of an Azerbaijani citizen. This truth is known and recorded in the Constitution of the country. When indisputable provisions are violated by the legislative body, in particular, by one of the branches of government - the Milli Majlis, citizens have a reasonable question: If they can violate, why are we punished for violations?
In Baku, at the main staircase in the Milli Majlis, next to the bus stop, on the asphalt sidewalk, parliament’s employees have a free car parking with a barrier and automatic posts moving out of the ground. The workers of the Milli Mejlis apparatus, possibly some deputies, leave their expensive and even very expensive cars in this parking lot. Leaving the car there in the morning, they climb the stairs to the Milli Majlis. After six o’clock in the evening, the parking lot is empty.
Cars are so tight that not only disabled people in a wheelchair and women with children, often even other pedestrians cannot walk along the sidewalk. It remains to squeeze between the cars; risking soiling clothes and scratching the sides of the car, or you need to get off the carriageway of Parliament Avenue, risking your life.
At the request of Turan, the head of the press service of the Milli Majlis initially said that there are cars not belonging to employees of the Milli Mejlis. When we explained that every morning we saw cars parked at this place, the owners of which climb the stairs to parliament, the head asked for time to find out.
After half an hour, he said on the phone that there were no obstacles for pedestrians in the parking lot, but the Milli Mejlis would deal with the issue and would soon make sure that the cars did not park on the sidewalk. —0-
