The number of infected with coronavirus in schools is not high
Baku/10.20.21/Turan: On September 29, 344 classes and 9 secondary schools in Azerbaijan have passed distance learning due to the coronavirus.
Also, several groups at the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, Medical University, Baku State University and Azerbaijan Technical University are also on distant learning.
Some parents argue that children who come to schools and universities with flu symptoms do not get tested and continue to come to class.
According to experts, an increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus in secondary and higher educational institutions is not excluded.
In this case, is it necessary that educational institutions in Azerbaijan again switch to distance learning?
The Ministry of Education said that at present there is no need to switch to distance learning. "The number of infections is not so great that educational institutions have switched to the distant form of education. If any decision is made on this issue, this will be reported."
The department noted that the temperature of pupils, students and teachers is measured daily in educational institutions and other necessary measures are being taken.
Education expert Kamran Asadov also said that the number of infected students and teachers is insignificant. "The numbers are very low. Only 344 grades and 9 schools have switched to distance learning. Currently, there are 4,435 secondary schools and more than 85,620 grades in the country. That is, the transition of 344 out of more than 85 thousand classes to distance learning is not a big figure."
According to him, there are 1.6 million students in Azerbaijan, and only 400 of them have recently had symptoms of coronavirus. "During the fall season of 2019, when there was no pandemic, more than 33,000 children contracted the flu and other seasonal illnesses of this type."
The expert noted that such measures as temperature measurement and alcohol consumption are strictly carried out in schools. “We ourselves conduct daily monitoring in at least 20 schools in Baku. All the rules are strictly followed, from waiting for an intermediate room to warming the room. But higher education institutions have this problem. There, these requirements are not observed so strictly." - 0 -

On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
