Baku/07.08.23/Turan: The Ministry of Science and Education has announced the commencement of document acceptance for pupils seeking admission to lyceums and gymnasiums with Centralized Examination. Parents or legal representatives are required to submit their child's personal file between August 7, 15:00, and August 17, 15:00, to the respective institution where the student has been admitted.

Currently, Azerbaijan's secondary education institutions are categorized into private and public sectors, offering varying levels of education quality. Education expert Elshan Gafarov emphasized the differences in management and teaching methods between state-owned and private schools. While private schools follow international education programs and adhere to international standards, public and private institutions have distinct management systems, teaching approaches, and educational programs. Additionally, the student-teacher ratio, school environment, and school-parent relationships differ significantly between the two types of institutions.

Gafarov noted that the mission of each general education institution varies based on its type, location, and infrastructure. While some schools prioritize student engagement in teaching, lyceums and gymnasiums focus on centralized admission and specialized education for gifted children.

To enhance the overall quality of education, Gafarov emphasized the importance of developing charters for educational institutions. He pointed out the need to address the gaps in legal and normative documents concerning school management. Implementing an integrated approach, the Ministry of Science and Education has undertaken measures for educational development. A new structure has been established, including the General Education and Pre-School Agency, as part of the third stage of reforms in Azerbaijani education, which commenced after the adoption of the State Education Development Regulation in 2013.

Efforts are being made to delegate certain powers to schools, creating a more effective management system. Measures are being taken to form competent personnel capable of managing educational institutions effectively. Initiatives such as the establishment of regional educational administrations, the transfer of preschool educational institutions to the Ministry of Science and Education's balance, and personnel selection are aimed at improving the overall educational landscape in the country.--0--
