The school year began , the old problems remain
Baku/16.09.13/Turan : 16 September , the country began a new school year .
Classes began in 4,515 public schools , 36 public and 15 private universities , as well as in dozens of professional schools .
According to the Ministry of Education, to the first grade this year went 141,166 students.
This year, 144 new schools were opened , and 115 were overhauled.
This year, teachers' salaries were increased by 10%, which did not solve the problem of low pay of teachers . But in many rural parts of the country remains a shortage of teaching staff ,
Other serious problems of school education remain corruption and low levels of education.
There are cases of embezzlement of funds in the construction of new schools.
To improve the education of children , parents have to pay extra to hire the school teachers or private tutors. -03B-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
