The share of women among civil servants in Azerbaijan is 30%
Baku/05.03.21/Turan: Because of the women’s holiday on March 8, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan published statistical data on the role of women in various spheres of the country's life.
Early in 2021, 50.1% of the country's population were women. Of the 126.6 thousand children born last year, 46.7% were girls.
Women make up 81.0% of teachers in general education institutions, secondary specialized educational institutions - 77.9%, universities - 54.8%.
Among doctors, the proportion of women is two-third of the total. 58.1% of research staff are women.
Over the past 10 years, the number of women doctors of sciences has increased 2.6 times, doctors of philosophy (candidates in sciences) - 2.3 times.
Women make up 29% of civil servants, and their share among entrepreneurs is 21.3%.
The number of women among the deputies is also growing. If in 1990 women parliamentarians accounted for 4.3% of the members of the Supreme Council, now the number of women among the members of the Milli Mejlis has increased to 18.3%. -05D-
