The State Security Service detained two citizens for participating in illegal formations abroad
Baku/08.09.21/Turan: The State Security Service (SSS) detained two Azerbaijani citizens on suspicion of participating in an illegal armed unit on the territory of a foreign state.
A report of the State Security Service says that Dzhumayev Mansur Mammadali oglu (b. 1980) and Jahangirov Nasir Gachay oglu (b. 1971) left Azerbaijan in 2011 to join an illegal armed group.
After illegal entry on the territory of a foreign state, they joined a criminal unit that operated there under command of a certain "Salahaddin". As members of this unit, Dzhumayev and Jahangirov took part in in combat exercises and operations.
It has to be added that Dzhumayev and Jahangirov were brought to justice as defendants under Articles 12.1, 279.1 (participation n illegal armed groups outside Azerbaijan) of the Criminal Code of the country. By a court decision, both were arrested.
Note that in the course of the judicial proceedings, the accused admitted their guilt and repented, the SSS press release said - 16B-
