There are 121 people in the new list of political prisoners
Baku/04.06.21/Turan: The Union "For the Freedom of Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan" released on June 4 a new list of persons arrested and convicted for political reasons.
As the co-coordinator of the Union Elshan Hasanov told Turan, there are 121 people in the updated list, which are classified into seven groups.
In the group “journalists and bloggers” - 7 people;
In the category "Members of opposition parties and movements" - 6 persons;
In the group “Arrested after the rally on July 14-15, 2020” - 3 people; “Believers” - 19;
“Convicted in the Terter case” - 27;
“Convicted in the Ganja case” - 45;
“Convicted for life” - 14.
In the previous list, released in early April, there were 111 names. Since then, the list has grown to 121 people. It was joined by two defendants in the "Terter case": Seymur Hasanov and Vagif Aliyev;
Seven people accused of the Ganja events: Firudin Zeynalov, Rasim Mustafayev, Akif Aliyev, Jeyhun Gurbanov, Jeyhun Salahov, Jafar Zalov, Mahir Azizov;
Member of the Movement of Muslim Unity Vugar Hajiyev.
“The problem with political prisoners in Azerbaijan is not being resolved, their ranks are systematically growing. Over 120 political prisoners for a small country, a member of the Council of Europe is a huge figure,” Elshan Hasanov said. –06D-
