There is a growing desire among the separatist leadership to cooperate with Azerbaijan
Baku/03.08.23/Turan: According to reports from opposition circles in the Armenian-populated part of Karabakh, there is a growing desire among the separatist leadership to cooperate with Azerbaijan. This desire, however, is allegedly hidden from the population. Some believe that the ruling team deliberately aggravates the humanitarian crisis to push the people towards expressing their desire for integration with Azerbaijan, and then the authorities will act accordingly.
David Galstyan, a member of the Justice faction of the self-proclaimed parliament, claims that the current leadership, including Araik Harutyunyan, the so-called "president of Karabakh," is more focused on business interests than on responsible state administration. He accuses them of making concessions to Azerbaijan step by step, using the road through Aghdam as an opportunity to earn.
Galstyan calls for the expulsion of the current leadership, considering their actions as leading the region towards acceptance of Azerbaijan's demands.
Meanwhile, Artur Osipyan, the head of the Revolutionary Party and a Karabakh oppositionist, goes even further, calling the leadership "traitors" and suggesting that some individuals might be seeking amnesty from Azerbaijan for their alleged actions during the conflict. He points to Vitaly Balasanyan, a general accused of involvement in the Khojaly genocide, who reportedly negotiated with Azerbaijan in Aghdam without facing any consequences.
Osipyan is ready to organize a mass march of Karabakh Armenians to the Lachin checkpoint, demanding the opening of the road for transportation of goods and passengers.
