Thirty three pro-government media will receive 1,223,000 manats
Media State Support Fund under the President allocated financial assistance to 33 newspapers. At a meeting held on 29 December it was decided to allocate AZN 1,223,000 from the Fund for the first half 2016. The head of the Fund Vugar Safarov said that the competition submitted 34 papers. Financial assistance has been allocated to all but "Zaman Azerbaijan" newspaper because the documents did not meet the conditions of the competition. Thus, financial assistance in the amount of 60,000 manats was allocated for the following newspapers: "Caspian" (in Russian and Azeri languages), "Movge", "Yeni Azerbaijan", "Adalat", "525th newspaper", "Ses", " Baki Khabar "," Yeni Musavat ",
"Express", and "Palitra".
Forty thousand manats received the "Parallel", "Haft ichi", "Azad Azerbaijan", "Sharq", "Khalg Cebhesi", "Football + Goal", "Bizim Yol", "Olaylar." The remaining 14 newspapers will receive from 9,000 to 30,000 manat. Almost all the newspapers, which will receive assistance are pro-government and are under the control of high-ranking officials, or actively cooperate with the authorities. -03D04-

A group of ticktockers was arrested in Azerbaijan under administrative procedure. According to the press service of the Interior Ministry, the detainees ‘showed disrespect to society, posted unethical posts and appeals in social networks that are contrary to moral values’.
