The first this year severe accident happened on January 3 in Khachmas region where a truck "Kamaz" and a car "OPEL" collided.
As a result, three people in the car died: Allahveren Shukyurov, Vusal Shukyurov and Amid Seyidov. "Opel" was burnt of hitting.
Only the rescue officers of the emergency ministry managed to pull the bodies from the deformed car by using a special equipment, according to the said the ministry. -03D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
