Tofig Yagublu has health problems
Baku / 05.09.20 / Turan: On the fourth day of the hunger strike, the opposition politician Tofig Yagublu had health problems, said his daughter Nigar Hazi, who spoke to her father on the phone.
According to her, the 4-day hunger strike has already begun to affect the politician's health. He often has dizziness and weakness. Despite this condition, no medical examination was carried out. She noted that the first consequences of the hunger strike are a wake-up call for his health. “The officials of the pre-trial detention center should immediately inquire about the health of the father and give instructions for his medical examination. Taking into account this condition, the father should be allowed to call home every day. If we don't hear his voice every day, it will cause concern for him,” Hazi said. She blamed the leadership of Azerbaijan for everything that happened to Yagublu and everything that could happen to him. Hazi noted that Yagublu maintain good spirits and conveyed gratitude to all those who supported him.
“The deputy governors of the prison asked my father to stop the hunger strike. He replied: “Better to die than to turn off the path! If I die, I will give my life for the people, my homeland. There is no way back! "
Tofig Yagublu, a member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat Party, was detained on March 22 after an accident. He was accused of assaulting the driver and passenger of another car. However, there was no evidence of this. Yagublu regarded it as provocations. On September 2, he went on a hunger strike in court. On September 3, the court sentenced him to 4 years 3 months in prison. International organizations condemned the verdict. Amnesty International has recognized Yagublu as a "prisoner of conscience." - 06D-
