Tragic Incident in Sadarak Shopping Center
Baku/01.02.21/Turan: One worker was killed and another was injured during construction and repair work in the Sadarak shopping center in the vicinity of Baku on January 31. While the building materials were being lifted by an elevator in a three-story store, the cable fell and the elevator collapsed into the shaft. As a result, the worker Elsevar Azizov received injuries of various severity, while another worker Rafet Ashrafov died from his injuries on the spot. In connection with the incident, the Garadagh district prosecutor's office initiated a criminal case under Article 162.1 (violation of labor protection rules, resulting in the death of a person by negligence) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is underway, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office. -06d-

According to the charge (Article 308 of the Criminal Code), if the accused can prove the disclosure was unintentional, they may face 3 to 7 years in prison. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."
