Baku/17.04.23/Turan: According to a report from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan on April 16, customs officers at the Shakhtakhty border checkpoint in Nakhchivan foiled an attempt to smuggle 71 kg and 800 gr of heroin.
The drugs were discovered in a truck that was en route from Iran to Turkey via Nakhchivan.
The report did not specify the exact date of the incident, and an investigation is currently ongoing.-06B-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
