Trial on the Ismayilli events (UPDATED)
On 21 January in Sheki Court at the trial in the case of Ismayilli events gave testimonies a chief of police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ismayilli police, Nijat Aliyev. He said active organizers of the riots were the leader of REAL Ilgar Mamedov, deputy chairman of the party "Musavat", Tofig Yagublu, and locals Elshan Ismayıllı , Vasif Ibragimov, and Shukran Mohbalyev.
The policeman claimed that he saw on 24 January at about 16:00 how Mamedov and Yagublu incited locals to riot.
Witness gave confused testimony . On the one hand , he said that within an hour from 16:00 to 17:00 he was watching Mammadov and Yagublu, and then he said that he went to the department to write a protocol against Yagublu, and when he came back an hour later Yagublu was still there.
The witness could not provide an explanation for his contradictory testimonies.

Today in Sheki Court the trial of the Ismayilli events continued.
By 13.00 testimonies were heard from 21 witnesses and they all said they had not seen the leader of REAL Ilgar Mamedov and the deputy chairman of the party Musavat Tofig Yagublu and even the other defendants during the riots.
In the afternoon, the court will continue to listen to the witnesses, whose total number is over a hundred.
* On January 23, 2013 drunken workers of the Chirag hotel damaged a local man's car, and then began to insult all the residents of Ismayilli.
This aroused the indignation of the residents who trashed and burned the hotel. The riots stopped on Jan. 24 after the internal troops meddled. 18 people were arrested.
Ilgar Mamedov, Tofig Yagublu and 16 defendants are charged under Articles 233 (organization and active participation in activities that disrupt public order ) and 315.2 ( resistance to authority ) .
