Trials in the case of G.Bayramly and A. Mukhtarly
Baku / 20.11.17 / Turan: Preparatory hearings in the cases of the journalist Afgan Mukhtarly and deputy chairman of the Popular front party Gezal Bayramli are scheduled for November 30.
The trial of Mukhtarly will begin on November 30 at 10.30 in the Balaken District Court.
On the same day, at 3 pm in the Gazakh regional court, a preparatory meeting on the Bayramli case will begin.
Mukhtarli was abducted on May 29 in Tbilisi and secretly sent to Azerbaijan, where alawsuit was launched against him under the Article 315.2 (resistance to a representative of the government with the use of violence), 318.1 (illegal transfer of the state border) and 206.1 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code.
Mukhtarly rejected the accusations. International human rights organization Amnesty International recognized him as a "prisoner of conscience".
Bayramli was detained on May 25 on his return from Georgia. Against her, he is charged under the Article 206.1 (smuggling). Bayramli was recognized as a human rights organization by a political prisoner. -03C06--
