Baku / 04.02.19 / Turan: The Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) reported on the detention of 2 of its young activists over the past two days. This was announced by a member of the PFPA Board Ilham Huseyn.
According to him, Elnur Jabbarly was detained on the evening of February 3 and taken to the Absheron district police station. Amil Mammadzadeh was detained on Monday. By evening, it became known that he was arrested administratively for 25 days. The fate of Jabbarli remains unknown.
The PFPA noted that about 30 party activists were administratively arrested in January. The party considers these arrests politically motivated. The PFPA believes the authorities are trying to bring down the increase in citizens' protest activity with arrests.
The authorities reject political persecution of citizens. -06D--
