Two political prisoners released
Baku/27.02.18/Turan: Aydin Safarli and Siraj Rahimov, whose names were included by human rights activists in the lists of political prisoners, were released due to the end of the term of imprisonment, according to the Center for the Protection of Political Prisoners. Aydin Safarli was among the protesters in January 2016 in Siyazan against the price increase. The court sentenced him to 2 years imprisonment. Siraj Rahimov was arrested in Mingachevir in 2015 for participating in a protest action in connection with the death of a citizen in the police. The first was released on February 22, and the second - on the 25th.Two groups of human rights defenders and former political prisoners are preparing a list of political prisoners in Azerbaijan. There are small differences in the lists. The names of over 160 political prisoners appear in the lists. Official authorities claim that there are no political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
