Why Do Authorities Keep Silent about Smuggling of Thirty-three Kilograms of Gold?
Azerbaijan’s power bodies are silent about the fact of detention of a car with Azerbaijani signs and two citizens of Azerbaijan, carrying 39 gold bars weighing more than 33 kg, in Istanbul.
According to the Turkish side, the gold was imported from Azerbaijan through smuggling.
After two days no power body has commented on this fact yet.
Turan's attempts to get a comment in the Border Service of Azerbaijan failed, as the press service phone number did not respond.
The Prosecutor's Office, the Interior Ministry and the State Security Service are also silent. The Customs Committee, which is responsible for checking the goods crossing the border, did not release a comment either.
The situation is reminiscent of the scandal in 2014, when a truck with a ton of heroin disguised as a liquid detergent was driven via the entire Azerbaijan.
Then all the law enforcement agencies nodded at each other, claiming that it was not relevant to them.
Note that if the gold was really transported in the car, it could happen only in Nakhchivan, which has a common border of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Alternative transport of such a large number of gold through Iran or Georgia is unlikely.
Answers to these questions should come from law enforcement agencies, which in other times enthusiastically warn about the detention of two units of smuggled cigarettes, medicine boxes or a couple of phones.
Practice shows that such large shipments of contraband, as a rule, take place with the participation of high-ranking employees and government agencies, for which the law does not apply. -02B-

At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
