Why Gabala Residents Stage Protest at Front?
The situation around attempts to move the front line by 25 villagers of Kotuklu from the Gabala region remains unclear.
Recall that the incident occurred on the morning of February 27 in the village Mirbashirli of the Agdam district when 25 residents of Gabala raised white flags and walked on the Armenian side. They were detained by the military and handed over to the police. The authorities have not commented on the reasons for such an action.
The executive power of the Gabala region confirmed the fact for Turan News Agency , noting that official information will be announced after the completion of the investigation by law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, one of the participants of the protest action, Ramin Ismayilov told the press that the reason is illegal actions and prosecutions by the representative of the executive Ikram Nabiyev.
"Abusing official position, Nabiyev and his numerous relatives, pursuing our children, put them in jail. Nabiyev has strong links with law enforcement agencies and all who objected in the village Kotuklu were arrested on trumped up charges of drug possession. This has been going on for years, we have taken this step because of the despair," said Ismayilov.
Another participant, Akif Ismayilov said that the protest was against the unjust decisions of the Gabala District Court.
"My son Sarkhan witnessed a petty fight, but the investigation attracted him as a defendant. Wherever we complained, it did not help and my son was sentenced to a year in prison," said Ismayilov.
The deputy chief of the press service of the Interior Ministry Ehsan Zahidov, commenting on the incident, said that 25 residents of Gabala arrived in the Agdam district and demanded the release of their prisoner relative. Otherwise, they threatened to go to the Armenian side.
They were detained and taken to the police station, where they were taken a testimony and sent back to Gabala. The investigation is ongoing, and the occurring will be given legal assessment, Zahidov said.
Meanwhile, a representative of the executive power in the village Kotuklu Ikram Nabiyev told Turan that claims to it are absolutely unfounded.
"I have nothing to do with this. There is a criminal case, which was investigated. On this occasion, the court announced its decision. However, they do not agree, and what do I have to do with this?" Nabiyev said.
Meanwhile, local sources reported that authorities began investigating the incident, checking the validity of the court decision, the degree of guilt of the convicts, the action and the role of the executive branch. To this end, evidence has been taken from all the protesters and the officials involved in the case. -03B-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
