Zamin Salaev continues his hunger strike for 114th day
Baku/31.05.23/Turan: Chairman of the Salyan district branch of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA), Zamin Salayev, who is under arrest, will go on a dry hunger strike from June 6.
This was announced to Turan on Wednesday by his lawyer Fakhraddin Mehdiyev, after visiting Salayev in a medical institution of the Penitentiary Service.
Recall that Salaev has been on a hunger strike for the 114th day, demanding his release.
"Zamin's condition is still very serious. He is carried in a wheelchair. Today his weight is 68 kg. The pressure is 70/50 today. He is being injected with medications through a dropper. The pulse is high 110-120 beats per minute. Acute pains in the kidneys, heart and lower back persist," the lawyer said.
It was not possible to get information about Salaev's health status from the Penitentiary Service medical institution.
*Zamin Salaev was detained on February 7, and the next day the Garadagh court arrested him on charges of hooliganism with the use of weapons (Article 221.3 of the Criminal Code). On May 22, the court sentenced him to 4 years of imprisonment.
The US Embassy in Baku called on the authorities to release Salayev and other political prisoners. -05B06-
