Baku/29.11.21/Turan: During a meeting between thePresidents of Iran and Azerbaijan in Ashgabat on Sunday, Raisi also recalled that Tehran "had an open and unequivocal position on the Karabakh issue." "From the supreme leader, to the officials of state structures, everyone adhered to the position that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan must be ensured," he said.
For his part, Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relations with Iran. "This is our first meeting, and I am sure that this meeting will give a strong impetus to Azerbaijan-Iran ties," IRNA news agency quoted Aliyev as saying.
According to the same source, the Presidents discussed the North-South international transport corridor, as well as cooperation within the Zangezur transport corridor. It was stressed that the creation of the Zangezur corridor is beneficial for Iran as well. The creation of the Azerbaijan-Russia-Iran energy corridor was also discussed. -0-
