Azerbaijan energy ministry allows error of 2 million tons of oil production for this year
Yesterday Rasim Mammadov, chief of administration of Azerbaijan Ministry of Industry and Energy, said that this year Azerbaijan plans to extract 45-47 million tons of oil and 27 billion cubic meters of gas.
None of the Ministries in the world have made such a forecast. There are only three months left until the end of this year and the Ministry's representative allows for an error of 2 million tons.
According to Azerbaijani government forecasts, in 2012 the country must extract about 46 million tons of oil.
Results from the first 8 months of 2012 indicate that the country could at best extract 44 million tons of oil. Considering that in November 2012 BP-Azerbaijan company is going to suspend production on the Deep-water Guneshli platform for one month, production is expected to decline to 43.5 million tons.-0---
