Georgia proved out that it is the state in deed and not in name

ASTNA spoke with Georgian political commentator Nicholas Chkhaidze, a researcher at the Topchubashov Center, about the protests against the law on foreign agents in Georgia and what is happening.

In a fervent keynote address at a rally in Tbilisi, Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chairman of the Georgian Dream Party, declared a significant pivot in Georgia’s domestic and foreign policies, signaling his continued influence over the nation’s governance. Ivanishvili’s speech underscored a confrontational stance towards the opposition and Western influence, which has ignited concerns about Georgia's democratic trajectory.

It is reported that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave new instructions on the events of 1915. The Prime Minister wants to compile a list of Armenians who died during those events.

The Georgian Parliament adopted in the first reading the draft law "On transparency of external influence". The opposition did not participate in the vote. According to information published on the website of the Parliament of Georgia, the third and final hearings on the "Russian law" will be held on May 17.
