On March 13 evening at the Song Theater named after R.Beybutov took place a solemn evening dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Mountaineering Federation and Azerbaijan. For the first time for many years, were brought together representatives of three generations of climbers -those who went to back in the late 40's and the youngest, who walks in the mountains today.
The central part of the evening was the screening of the documentary "My soul is in the mountains," a story about a 50 year old way federation, achievements, difficulties and problems. The authors of the film tried to show the history, tradition and meaning of this sport, which many considered dangerous and do not understand its meaning. During the evening, participants recalled the victims and deceased climbers. Veterans and mountaineering athletes who advances and achievements in the development and supported the sport in Azerbaijan were awarded. A 82-year-old George Silkov, who first went to the mountains in 1949, made a speech.
The alpinists sang traditional songs with a guitar. A new tradition became the performance meykhana singers. Probably, for the first time in the history of that day sounded was made meykhana on the topic of mountaineering. Well, the evening ended with too new tradition - rap, which can be called the anthem of Azerbaijan climbers.
Closing the event, President of the Federation, Master of Sports Israfil Ashurly congratulated veterans and all other participants, expressed the belief that they will overcome all difficulties and problems.-02D-

Some periods in cultural history have not been deeply studied, and finding precise, detailed information in the Azerbaijani language is nearly impossible.
