Demolition of Architectural Buildings Increased in Former Soviet Street Area
The demolition of architectural buildings has increased in the blocks of old buildings above the Drama Theatre this week. These buildings survived the previous period, when dilapidated housing was demolished.
So, a few days ago, a three-storey building of the 19th century was demolished, where the well-known drama actor Abbas Mirza Sharifzadeh lived in his time. Before that, an architectural building in the Art Nouveau style in Mirza Aga Aliyev Street above Drama Theater was demolished.
Today, May 20, the demolition of an architectural 3-storey building on the opposite side began. Today excavators took up a beautiful 3-storey building with a magnificent architectural facade in the form of an openwork arch at the entrance above the Drama Theater.
Previously, the city authorities claimed that about 30 architectural buildings in the area will be saved, but they did not present any list of these buildings, or the manner in which they will be saved.
In the meantime, the old Baku continues to lose part of its face and cultural heritage. -02B-
