Broadcasting from Europe, the TV program Azerbaijan Saati (The Hour of Azerbaijan) made a documentary Murder of the Word about the Chief Editor of the magazine Monitor Elmar Huseynov. The movie is timed to the 11th anniversary of the murder and will be presented to the audience on the day of the journalist’s birth - 17 July.
Elmar Huseynov was born in Baku on July 17, 1976. His journalistic work began in the Zerkalo newspaper in 1995. Since 1996, he established the Monitor magazine characterized by its critical orientation. On March 2, 2005 after numerous threats and lawsuits Elmar Huseynov was shot dead at his doorstep.
Until now, neither the killers nor the customers of the crime have been brought to justice. The journalist’s wife Rushana and his young son Aslan have immigrated to Norway. -0-

Some periods in cultural history have not been deeply studied, and finding precise, detailed information in the Azerbaijani language is nearly impossible. One such period is the Qajar era, which lasted from 1794 to 1985.
