The 11th European Film Festival in Azerbaijan has started
Baku/14.06.21/Turan: The EU Delegation to Azerbaijan announced the opening of the 11th European Film Festival on Monday.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head of the EU Delegation, Kastutis Jankauskas noted that these festivals have been held in Azerbaijan since 2010.
The film festival gives people the opportunity to know others better, discover the culture and mentality of other peoples, and think over ways to solve the universal problems of humanity.
In the reviewed period, 148 films have been presented to Azerbaijani audiences as part of the festivals, he said.
The festival will show movies in various genres, as well as documentaries from 13 EU countries and Serbia, from 14 to 29 June.
In addition, meetings with various directors and figures of workers of culture will be held in the format of online conferences.
Representative of the international organization "CineEurope," Valerio Caruso said that in addition to Azerbaijan, this festival is held in several countries of Latin America and Africa.
According to him, 400 films have initially been offered of which 70 selected and presented to an authoritative jury. From this number, 20 films have been selected for the festival and 10 of them will be shown in Azerbaijan.
Festival films can be viewed on website, after going through a simple registration procedure. The films are presented in the original language, and some of them have subtitles in English,Russian and Azerbaijani. –71D-
