16 Kazkhstan’s companies are among top 50 CIS business leaders when it comes to the labor productivity, reported Tengrinews.kz quoting study of Russian Expert RA rating agency as a part of the Expert-400 rating of the biggest companies.
Two Kazakhstan’s oil and gas companies are on the first and second places on the top 50 CIS business leaders list. Tengizchevroil company with the volume of sales worth $23.1 billion in 2012 is on the first place. Kazgermunai JV with the volume of sale of $2.3 billion is on the second place.
The following Kazakhstan’s companies are also among top 50 business leaders: Turgai-Petroleum JSC, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., Kazakhoil Aktobe, Karakudukmunai JSC, Maten Petroleume JSC, Zhaikmunai, Sauts Oil, Kcell JSC, PetroKazakhstan JSC, KuatAmlonMunai JV, Mangistaumunaigas JSC, Aktobemunaigas JSC, Karazhanbasmunai JSC and Ekibastuz hydrualic power station-1.
The labor productivity in the companies from Expert-400 rating is in average $183,000 per person, down 3.4 times against the biggest companies in Japan and three times less than Western Europe and US and 1.7 times less than the leading corporations from the countries-partners BRIK.
The labor productivity in the biggest Russian companies is almost twice lower, than among their competitors in Eastern Europe or BRIK. The labor productivity in big business in Russia is 40% of the world leaders’ level.—0—

At today’s session of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliamentarians discussed and approved in the first reading a draft law increasing the minimum subsistence level for 2025. The updated figures reflect a modest rise of 10 manats, setting the nationwide living wage at 285 manats. For specific demographics, the levels are 305 manats for the working population, 232 manats for pensioners, and 246 manats for children. The same session also approved the criterion of need at 285 manats for the coming year, aligning it with the national living wage.
