In recent decades, Azerbaijan has seen its population steadily increase, with 2024 marking yet another year of modest growth. As of June 1, 2024, the country's population has reached 10,197,146, a rise of 16,376 people or 0.2% since the start of the year. However, despite this gradual uptick, experts warn that by the end of the century, the population trend could take a sharp downward turn. By 2100, the number of residents in Azerbaijan is projected to drop to 9.2 million—and possibly as low as 6.2 million, according to some grim forecasts.
