Azerbaijan and the World Bank prepared a new draft to strengthen the competitiveness of the agricultural sector
The World Bank presented a new project to the Government of Azerbaijan on the development of agricultural production. At the November 26 meeting of the Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov with the bank manager on Azerbaijan Larisa Leshchenko the sides also discussed technical support to develop a new concept for the development of agriculture.
The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture told Turan that Asadov assured the World Bank that will take all measures to adopt and implement prepared with the participation of the World Bank project "Strengthening the competitiveness of agriculture." On the date of signing the loan agreement and the cost of the new project is not reported.
At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture has asked the World Bank to provide technical assistance in the implementation of a new approach to the management of the agricultural sector, including the establishment of modern slaughter houses, the chain of production, storage and transport of agricultural products, as well as training for agriculture.
The World Bank has financed several projects in Azerbaijan on establishment of private farms, farm support, including the provision of soft loans, the formation of private veterinary services, rural development, etc. - 08D-
