Azercell Telecom prepares appeal
BAKU/16.12.13/Turan : The local mobile operator Azercell Telecom sent a direct appeal to the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan in connection with the decisions of the lower courts .
Thus, close to end is the action cycle of economic lawsuit of the mobile operator Azerfon against its competitor. The claim reads that on April 3, 2009 the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology ( MCIT) established a new tariff for interconnection to the GSM network operators in the amount of AZN 0.02 (2 Azerbaijani kopecks) per minute. However, Azercell, despite appeals by business partners, left the former rate as 5 kopecks. Recall that only in February this year completed a similar lawsuit of Bakcell against Azercell Telecom, and also in favor of the competitor.
Azercell as part of the Swedish-Finnish Telia Sonera Holding refers to the international treaties with the Azerbaijani government to justify its refusal to comply with the requirements of regulations approved by the ministry, keeping inflated retail rates. -17D-
