Baku to Discuss Problem of Tunneling
Today in Baku opened a two-day exhibition and conference "Tunnelling and underground infrastructure of cities."
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the Honorary President of the Association of tunnels and underground infrastructure in France (AFTES) Alan Balan said that Azerbaijan has great potential in the field of underground construction. He noted that France is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of tunnel construction and provide technical capacity.
The head of the department of Baku Metro under construction Arif Rasulov said at the conference that the implementation of the state program of Metro 2025 an amount of 7.6 bn. The program plans to build a 84 km tunnel (168 km including two-way traffic). Rasulov said that the construction of 1 km tunnel costs about 110 million manat.
The work is financed by the state budget. In the future, in order to implement the program does not exclude the involvement of foreign investors, he said.
