Belarusian-Azerbaijani Business Forum Held in Minsk
The Belarusian-Azerbaijani business forum opened in Minsk yesterday is organized at the governmental level.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, at the forum the Azerbaijani delegation is headed by the head of this department, Shahin Mustafayev. It is attended by representatives of the business community of Azerbaijan, working in the field of agriculture, industry, ICT, construction, tourism, finance, etc.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Mustafayev praised the level of cooperation of industrial enterprises of the two countries, in particular of the Ganja automobile plant with the Minsk tractor and automobile factories, and encouraged to expand this cooperation to other areas.
It was noted that Azerbaijan is numbering 30 companies with Belarusian capital, and in Belarus there are 60 companies with Azerbaijani capital.
Azerbaijani businessmen got acquainted with the activity of a number of enterprises of Minsk.
The forum will continue its work today, 27 November.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, for the first 9 months of this year the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Belarus amounted to $ 63.9 million. That is $ 9 million less than in the comparable period of 2014. The official statistics of Belarus for the period recorded a turnover between the two countries at the level of $ 251.1 million. The export of goods to Azerbaijan amounted to $ 247.8 million, while the Azerbaijani customs officially recorded Belarusian goods totaling $ 58 million. ----08B
