British capital is leader in foreign capital investments in Azerbaijan
Investment of foreign companies and international financial institutions in the economy of Azerbaijan in January-July 2014 increased compared to the same period in 2013 by 19.07% - up to 2,646,165,700 manat.
According to the SSC, with a 31.7% share the leader is the United Kingdom (839 million 189.2 thousand AZN). Incidentally, last year the figure was up 1.9%. Norwegian investments were 474 million 398.5 thousand AZN, increasing by 85.9%.
The following indexes were shown by companies from Turkey – AZN 240,420,000, USA – AZN 239 330 000, France – AZN 160 460 000, and Japan – AZN 158,110,000. Proceeds from other countries are less significant.
Relatively active were the international financial institutions: the World Bank - AZN 71,510,000 of investments in the local economy, and the Asian Development Bank – AZN 23,150,000. -17D-

While the global economy faces persistent challenges, trade between China and Azerbaijan has defied downward trends, demonstrating significant growth. According to official statistics from Azerbaijan, bilateral trade in 2023 reached 3.1 billion US dollars. In just the first ten months of 2024, trade volume increased by 17.1% year-on-year, reaching 3.02 billion US dollars, putting the annual trade figure on track to hit a record high.
