Cement production in Azerbaijan rose by 5.5%
Baku/16.12.13/Turan : Within 11 months of this year Azerbaijan produced 1913.8 thousand tons of cement , which is 5.5 % more than during the comparable period of 2012 , the State Statistics Committee told Turan . This year, the market came two large cement plants operating on the basis of clinker.
The combined capacity of the three major cement plants in the country is 4.7 million tons. In July this year, was commissioned cement plant JSC " Industrial Construction Investment Corporation Akkord> in the village Dash Salahli of the Gazakh region (1 million tons of cement per year ) and LLC Norm in the village Gizildash in the Garadagh district of Baku city (2 million tons) .
In the past year, completed reconstruction of cement plant "Holcim (Azerbaycan)" ( Garadagh district of Baku ) , after which the capacity of the plant was increased from 1.3 million to 1.7 million tons of cement per year. For these enterprises should cement factory LLC Azbentonit in the Absheron region.
According to the State Customs Committee , the volume of imports of cement is still high . For the first nine months of this year, imports of cement in terms of value was $ 116.2 million, a 36.1% increase over the comparable period in 2012 .
It is noteworthy that the SCC reports on imports in 2012 to 1.1 million tons of clinker , 1060 tons of portland cement and hydraulic . The enormous volume of imports of clinker ( the main raw material for cement production ) says more shadow volume of the cement market in Azerbaijan . - 08B -
