Corruption fighters reported for H1
Today the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has reported on the activities in the first half.
According to the head of the structure, Kamran Aliyev, at a press conference, completed the investigation on 103 criminal cases against 147 defendants. Documents submitted for further consideration in the appropriate jurisdiction.
Six cases were initiated on the facts of giving (2) and receiving (4) bribes, 11 - on the abuse of power, 4 – on assigned official authority, 38 - on embezzlement, 25 - on fraud.
"During the reporting period, the hotline (short number 161) of the office received 2,864 applications. Based on 9 of them prosecuted under various provisions of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, on the other information taken preventive and precautionary measures," said the speaker.
According to the head of the Office for six months agency staff reviewed the treatment in 1603 people and investigated 169 of the criminal nature.
The total damage to areas for further consideration in the courts of 103 criminal cases totaled 11.87 million manat, about half of which (50.6%) paid during the preliminary investigation. The rest of the damage property arrested accused persons.
General Prosecutor's Office and other law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan mimic the fight against corruption, arresting small performers of financial crimes. Customers (officials and monopolists) usually go unpunished, and when someone accuses them in specific criminal acts, expressing "pride of belonging to the president's team." - 17D-
