Deficit of Tourist Services in H1, 2012 Amounted to $ 200 Million
Travel services for a total of $ 1 billion provided to foreigners in Azerbaijan in January-June 2012. This is $ 483.3 million, or 93.5% more than in the corresponding period last year.
Of the total volume of exports of tourism services 40% were non-residents costs incurred in the course of business travel to Azerbaijan.
In turn, according to the balance of payments, the amount of travel services provided to residents of Azerbaijan abroad, for the period increased by $ 490.8 million or 69.2% to $ 1.2 billion, of which 63.2% is spent in private foreign travel. - 15B -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met today with Ahmed Moallim Figi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, at the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
