Delegation of Adjara Arrives in Azerbaijan
The Baku Business Center on November 5 held the Azerbaijani-Georgian Business Forum on the occasion of the visit of the delegation headed by the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Davit Baladze, the Azerbaijan Fund for Export Promotion and Investment reported.
The forum will be attended by representatives of several companies from Adjara, working in construction and tourism.
The forum will be a presentation of opportunities of implementation of business activity and investment in this region of Georgia on the Black Sea.
According to the Department of Statistics of Georgia, the volume of Azerbaijan's investment in the economy of Georgia is $ 914 million, including $ 95 million in 2013.
Note that one of the major investors from Azerbaijan in Georgia is AS Group Investment. In 2012, it opened the unit AS Georgia and started a project of a residential community in Tbilisi on the bank of the river Kura. Besides the construction sector, AS Georgia also includes 2 concrete units and a department for the production of metal grids.
For the first nine months of this year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia (the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee’s data) amounted to $ 467 million, which is 0.4% more than in the same period of 2013. The import of Georgian products ($ 79,200,000) decreased by 21.3%. --08D--

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance.
